All About MIST
MIST has officially launched in North Carolina!
MIST Carolina was officially established in July 2021. As the newest MIST region, our primary objective is to create a secure, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where Muslim youth in North Carolina can flourish.
What is MIST?
MIST stands for the Muslim InterScholastic Tournament, a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to our country's high school youth.
MIST serves as a platform that encourages high school students to collaborate, compete, cultivate creative skills, and gain insights from professionals, all while providing education about Islam and Muslims.
Presently, there are over 15 regions spanning the nation, from SoCal MIST to MIST New York, making a positive impact on the youth throughout the country!
How does MIST work?
MIST operates as a two-day event, typically hosted at a college venue, where students representing different high school Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) within a region gather to participate in a diverse range of competitions.
These competitions encompass a wide array of categories such as the arts, debate, basketball, writing and oratory, Quran memorization, and many others.
With an infectious spirit of camaraderie, MIST fosters an atmosphere of enthusiasm and teamwork. So, be prepared to showcase your best team spirit – after all, the most spirited school just might claim the victory!
Eligibility
To compete, individuals MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN HIGH SCHOOL or its equivalent.
If you're not eligible to compete but still want to engage with our organization, don't worry! We offer a variety of year-round opportunities for you to contribute and make a meaningful impact.
